Cheney Unified School District #268 has a proud tradition of educational excellence. It is a 3A school district consisting of 3 attendance centers, with an enrollment of between 750 and 800 students.
The district recently completed projects from a 2014 bond issue (passing with 75% approval) improving existing facilities as well as adding several new 21st century learning areas.
USD 268 has consistently scored high on all assessments (well above state and national averages) and look for that trend to continue as they embark on the Kansans Can Vision of the KSDE. The 2013-2014 year brought with it great excitement as Cheney implemented a 1:1 MacBook initiative at the high school and a 1:1 iPad in grades 3-8. We have since embarked on 1:1 Chromebooks in grades 3-8 with iPad carts, 1:1 iPad preK-2 and maintaining 1:1 MacBook at the high school.
The school distirct offers all-day kindergarten, as well as a pre-school for four-year olds. The school district has a strong arts program, including a new state-of-the-art performance art auditorium. Cheney Cardinal athletic teams are regularly among league leaders at State competitions. Sports available to CHS students include football, volleyball, golf, basketball, wrestling and track.
The school prides themselves in their impressive team of administrators, teachers and staff that strive to help each student be successful.
