Solicitor License:

All solicitor, canvassers, and peddlers are required to obtain a license from City Hall before conducting business. An application must be completed and the individual will undergo a background check. Upon review, if the applicant’s character or business responsibility is found to be satisfactory, a license will be issued and must be carried with the licensee. Applicants are required to pay $25 for the background check and $25 per day to conduct business within Cheney. No license will be issued if the applicant’s character or business responsibility is found to be unsatisfactory. If a license is not obtained or those who shall fail or refuse to comply with the provisions shall be deemed guilty of a misdemeanor and shall be punished by a fine of not more than $100 and/or incarcerated for

not more than 30 days.
